Snow in Victoria

South Vancouver Islanders woke up this morning, surprised to see to something that the rest of B.C. deals with on a near daily basis in winter – snow! Webcams showed heavy accumulations on the Malahat, Goldstream and Bamberton areas. It snarled traffic throughout Victoria and Sooke, and caused school closures.

Highway maintenance crews are on it — keeping the primary corridors in good shape. We’ve got photos of the event here and on Flickr. And if you go outside and find a quiet spot, that funny sound you might hear is the rest of B.C. giggling!
